Japanese Plate Chrysanthemum - ASAGI Gray - Small (S)

White handcrafted porcelain plates designed by OJI Masanori. The texture of the chrysanthemum leaves on the inside gives the plate its name. The shapes and patterns are based on ancient ARITA traditions but have been refined by the designer to suit modern lifestyles.

The brand name means “porcelain (JI) in modern times (CON).
The porcelain is made at the I MAMURA house of the Touetsugama kiln, founded 350 years ago. The Touetsugama kiln originally originated in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, but was moved to Arita, Saga Prefecture and replaced by IMAMURA Kenichi XIV. The kiln creates porcelain pieces for everyday life using its traditional white porcelain techniques from Amakusa Touseki (porcelain stone).
