Furoshiki is a traditional square cloth whose use dates back to the Edo period when it was once used to store clothing or goods. The towels are versatile. For example, you can tie it together to make a practical fabric bag, or use it as packaging for bottles and gifts.

Thanks to people's increasing environmental awareness, the long-lasting furoshiki are enjoying increasing popularity again and ensure a revival of this traditional product.

FUROSHIKI are made of thin cotton material, but they are strong, durable and easy to knot.

KAMAWANU specializes in manufacturing TENUGUI, a hand-dyed rectangular fabric traditionally used as functional homewares/garments for everyday use in Japan. The TENUGUI is made using the "CHUSEN" hand-dyeing technique, which dates back to the Meiji Era more than 100 years ago and is still used today by artisans who appreciate its refined textures and visual qualities. Since its founding in 1987, KAMAWANU has developed more than 500 different TENUGUI patterns, breathing new life into the "CHUSEN" tradition of hand-dyeing, including the training of "CHUSEN" apprentice craftsmen.
